Muara Angke Birding Tour Itinerary
You will be picked up at Hotel Jakarta around 5 am, then we drive to Muara Angke Nature Reserve and wildlife sanctuary is a protected nature conservation area at Kapuk Muara.
Muara Angke Wildlife Sanctuary was protected since the colonial rule of the Dutch Indies on June 17, 1939, covering an area of 15.04 ha. During the 1960s, the conservation area was expanded to 1,344.62 hectares. Later, because of human pressure and environmental destruction within and around the national park, some of the mangrove forest area were destroyed.
Arrival at Muara Angke, then boat trip around Muara Angke and Jakarta Bay where we will look for Sunda Teal, Grey heron, Black crowned night heron, Javan pond heron, Purpel heron, Bar-winged prinia, Yellow bellied prinia, Golden bellied gerygone, Javan munia, Scaly breasted munia, White headed munia, Pink-necked green pigeon, Grey-cheeked green pigeon, Sunda pygmy woodpecker, Common flameback, Freckle breasted woodpecker, Racket tailed treepie, Red breasted parakeet, Small minivet, Pied triller, Cerulean kingfisher, Collared kingfisher, Spotted dove, Sunda collared dove, and also we expect to see Milky stork and Javan Coucal.
Then we continue for the boat trip to Jakarta Bay to look for Christmas Island Frigatebird, Little black cormorant and also another some shore birds species. Then at 1 or 2 PM, we cruise back to Muara Angke where you will be dropped off back to Hotel in Jakarta. End of the trip.
